Collection of the Imperial Russian Historical Society, an official pulication of the Imperial Russian Historical Society, was published in St Peterburg (1867-1916), a total of 148 volumes were published. At different times the editors of the publication were well-known Russian public figures and historians, such as G.F. Shtendman, A.H. Filippov, A.A. Polovtsev, H.F. Dubrovin, V.S., V. A. Kordt, F.R. Osten-Saken, N.V. Golitsyn, K.A. Voenskii, V.V. Maikov, H.D. Chechulin, D.F. Kobeko, Grand Duke Nikolai Mikhailovich and others. One of the most famous Russian pre-1917 publication on Russian history. The main attention was paid to the publication of historical documents, state and private archives.
